Benchcoach is a web-based baseball statistical analysis tool whose primary goal is to help people optimize their fantasy sports teams. Our goal is to become an authoritative site for baseball stats. Press release.
Benchcoach was formed in September 2007 by Sang Park and Will Schenk, with the unintentional tradition that we only hire people whose first name is an english word. (And one acronym, Mr Surface-to-Air-Missile.)
Will brings over a decade of technology and management to Benchcoach. He has broad experience in the software field, having worked on such diverse projects as the health care system for Malaysia’s Ministry of Health to an ECommerce platform for the deployment of over 40 brands under the Jones Apparel Group umbrella. He has worked for such companies as Sun Microsystems, Catalytic Architects, and most recently served as the Director of Software Engineering at Jones Apparel Group. Schenk’s paper on how to integrate Artificial Intelligence into enterprise software was published in Java Report under the title “Integrating Rule Engines in the Enterprise”. He holds a Bachelor of Philosophy in Mathematics and Computer Science from The Pennsylvania State University.

Matt has been building web applications since 1996. Recent experience includes projects at a fMRI research lab and a large medical records software company, so if you need your spleen removed or an analysis of your brain's bloodflow, Matt is totally unqualified to do at least one of those tasks. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Iowa. In a company competition, Matt narrowly beat everyone at the name the periodic element quiz.

Sam turned Will's incoherent ramblings about nostalgia into the graphic design that you see today. Sam was in the Peace Corps, a fact that didn't even make it onto Ten things his resume and portfolio won’t tell you.
